Cabling and bracing are techniques that improve or enhance the structural integrity of your trees where defects or other issues raise concerns about potential failure of the tree. Cabling is a technique whereby a synthetic or steel cable is installed between two or more limbs. Cables are usually installed higher in the tree to to achieve the best support.
Bracing is a technique whereby a steel rod is installed all the way through a tree. It is normally used lower in the tree to support a trunk that is deemed to have a higher likelihood of splitting.
